In a Coma
“In a Coma”
About “In a Coma”:
To us, the universe has always represented deep fascination, and at the same time, inexplicable fear towards its infinity. This awareness triggers our creativity in deeper ways. Because of this, we have chosen “The Universe” as the concept for this album. However, rather than focusing on the idea of the universe as a scientific concept, we decided to base it on our interpretation of the inner spiritual universe in each one of us.
We aim to create music that can transport people into this spiritual cosmos, where one can go on a journey through colorful stars and infinite space. A profound astral journey.
To better represent our concept, we produced a series of photographs and other goods, using everyday objects and transforming them into our interpretation of the universe. All works correspond to the music.
The album is available for streaming, and also an original limited edition CD box set including the artworks can be purchased. Online streaming is convenient, but we also believe in the substantial value of objects that remain tangible through time. This is why the CD box set and artworks included have been carefully designed to be a special item that can be treasured. It would mean a lot to us if this project of ours becomes a part of you and your space.

"Praise to an unknown mountain of an unknown village. Dancing to the wind that weaved the rain. Singing to the silence and stillness of the breath of life."
Formed in 2016. The Sankha name is inspired by the rebellious tribe Sanka existing in Japan before the Meiji Era.
The Sankhwa explores and creates music without following any concrete genre. The essence of their music has three main elements; It represents a hymn for life, the sublimation of the daily living and the embodiment of imagination by exploring new age sounds combining pop, rock, folk together with minimal and techno.
Other than music production, they have been working on a project called “Knowing the Four Seasons” with a photographer, Sanda Shu. They aim to create awareness of our actual surroundings. This project encourages you to examine by using the 5 senses the existence of things or moments that have become forgotten.
2016: The Sankhwa was formed
2017: Their first single “Touch/Goodnight” was released.
